American Trucking Association (ATA)

The American Trucking Association (ATA) is the largest and most comprehensive national trade association for the trucking industry, the industry America depends on most to move the nation’s freight.

The ATA is a 90-year-old federation with state trucking association affiliates in all 50 states, representing every sector of the industry: TLT (less-than-truckload) freight haulers; all truckload freight haulers (including agriculture, livestock, auto haulers); and large motor carriers as well as small mom-and-pop operations.

The ATA leverages the strength and size of their membership in order to develop, advocate, and advance innovative research-based policies that promote highway safety, security, environmental sustainability and profitability. As the recognized leader in truck transportation advocacy, the ATA diligently educates and guides policymakers within local, state and federal government about the essential role that trucking plays in the economy.

The ATA is focused on achieving bottom-line results for its members. The ATA is there to provide members with the answers, advice and tools they need to grow and support their trucking businesses. The ATA staff is comprised of subject matter experts that are available to advise and support its member companies.
